Product line expansion follows strategic merger with Ninebot
Segway is continuing to expand its consumer product lines with the launch of two smart, lightweight ‘Ninebot by Segway’ KickScooters, which were launched at the company’s press conference on Thursday.
There are two new models: the ES1 and the ES2. Both KickScooters are lightweight and feature a one- touch folding system. Riders also have the option to upgrade either e-scooter with an optional second battery. This allows for travel of up to 45 km, and enables ES2 riders to reach speeds of up to 30 km/h, travel further and take on slightly steeper inclines. Ninebot by Segway KickScooters will be available in Q4 2017.

Segway’s press conference at IFA was the launchpad for two additional new products: the Segway miniLITE and the miniPLUS, which form the new mini-series collection along with their current product the miniPRO.
The Segway miniLITE has a maximum speed of 16 km/h, a range of approximately 18km, and is steered with the knee control bar. It features customisable LED lights, while the knee control bar doubles as a handle to lift the unit. As the most exclusive of the mini-series, the Segway miniPLUS includes special features such as Follow Me mode, which can be enabled through the remote control. The self-balancing miniPLUS can reach up to 20km/h and travel up to 35km.
