Audio and visual innovations to pack emotional punch

The Sony Corporation is back at IFA with an array of product launches that will keep the CE stalwart at the leading edge of market trends. “By continuing to deliver revolutionary products that resonate at a deep emotional level, we are achieving steady profit growth in our electronics business here in Europe and are well positioned for the remainder of 2017 and beyond,” Shigeru Kumekawa, President of Sony Europe, said.

The first such revolutionary device to be unveiled for the first time, was an ultra-compact digital camera, the RX0. A rival to the GoPro, the pocket camera combines the same high-quality imaging capabilities of the Sony RX series with a robust and waterproof (up to 10 metres) design, the RX0 features a 15.3 megapixel CMOS image sensor with a 24mm F4 fixed wide-angle lens for ultra-high-resolution images. Pitched at action users, the RX0 can make super-slow-motion video recordings of fleeting moments in any shooting conditions.

Hideyuki Furumi, EVP, Global Sales & Marketing, Sony Mobile Communications. also took to the stage to introduce the latest products from the Xperia X smartphone series. The Xperia XZ1 incorporates a host of premium features made possible using Sony’s latest Motion Eye camera system and includes an HDR 5.2-inch full-HD display and Hi-Res audio.

Sony also unveiled its latest 1000X wireless noise canceling stereo headphone models that succeed the MDR-1000X – which created a lot of buzz at IFA 2016. Each boast unprecedented noise-cancellation levels for Bluetooth headphones and come equipped with worldfirst Adaptive Sound Control.
