Samsung launched new 55- and 65-inch QLED TV models under the Q8F brand at IFA. Having hosted the QLED and HDR10 Summit at IFA on September 1 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Berlin to offer insights into advancements in quantum dot (QLED) displays, Samsung has released the Q8F as the flat screen counterpart of the previously launched curved screen Q8C lineup.
Part of Samsung’s strategy to consolidate its leading position in the global premium TV market, the Q8C uses metal quantum dot technology to produce highly accurate colours regardless of scene brightness levels – hence the “100% Colour Volume” rating by the VDE certificate authority. The Q8C also includes an Invisible Connection transparent 1.8 mm diameter optical cable to eliminate cable clutter.
