19 companies secure prizes in the event, with strong showing from China
On the first day of IFA, the winners of the prestigious 2017 IFA Product Technical Innovation Award were announced in the presence of over 500 international media from all over the world. Held by International Data Group (IDG) and German Industry & Commerce Co., Ltd, 19 international enterprises won prizes, including Bosch, Siemens, LG, TCL, Haier, Sony, Midea, Galanz and Philips. IFA image ambassador Miss IFA and top executives of the hosts presented awards to winners.
The IFA Product Technical Innovation Award represents trends in consumer electronics innovation around the world. The goal is to inspire progress among enterprises and promote the transformation and industrialisation of technical achievements, while also cultivating more innovative products and the shift to Intelligent Technology. This year’s Awards programme had the theme of “Intelligent Technology” and was evaluated by judges from an international committee of experts.
This comprised top executives at international brand manufacturers, senior managers of related associations, members of international third party professional review organisations and consumer electronics media editors and scholars. There were 26 awards in the 2017 IFA Product Technical Innovation Award, including 4 innovation awards. Products covered include refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, steam stoves, televisions, sound systems, cameras, air conditioners, air purifiers, gas heaters, rice cookers, mobile phones, smart watches, unmanned aerial vehicles, VR devices and intelligent internet applications.
Subject areas included health and freshness, energysaving and environmental protection, intelligent interconnection, user experience and design. China did especially well this year. Chinese brands exhibit a great deal of innovation, fuelled by the strengthened power of Intelligent Manufacturing in China. Chinese enterprises such as TCL, Haier, Midea, BOE, Galanz, Hisense and Changhong obtained 11 awards altogether
