Bang & Olufsen revealed a brand new wireless earphone concept at IFA 2018 Wednesday, 29 August: the Beoplay E6. Displaying the Danish company’s renowned balance of design and acoustics, these in-ear monitors are targeted at the urban user and are an evolution of the previous models – H5 and E8. The braided cord and new tougher housing should make them lighter and more durable than their forerunners, plus the silicone ear fins have been redesigned to be secure and adjustable to different ear sizes. The batteries can charge directly from one’s smartphone, plus a neat gimmick sees small magnets installed into the earpiece design: not just to secure the pair together, reducing the risk of losing them while worn around the neck, but also attaching the earphones together magnetically automatically switches them off, thus saving battery life.
