With a range of catchphrases and futuristic products appearing at IFA, Liebherr’s domestic appliance business is well represented
We spoke to Liebherr’s Global Managing Director, Sales, Steffen Nagel and started by asking about the company’s strategy for this year’s IFA.
Our motto for the trade fair this year is ‘New Thinking’ showcasing new technical innovations and individual design solutions. The way ‘New Thinking’ impacts our everyday lives – today and in the future – can be experienced first-hand at our exhibition stand. We invite our visitors to experience how our digital solutions and networking technologies help organise food items smarter in day-to-day life. Integration of appliances in the Amazon voice service Alexa makes them more intuitive to use than ever.
Can you tell us about the new combinable side-by-side appliances?
According to personal preferences, they can be built-in together to an individual freshness centre with different climatic zones. The customised solutions enable creative kitchen design and can be combined both side-by-side and on top of each other. Furthermore, under the motto ‘New Thinking – For Long-Lasting Food Freshness’ we present the various aspects surrounding ‘BioFresh’. A refreshing innovation, which will first be implemented in ‘BioFresh’ built-in appliances in 2019, is the Fruit & Vegetables-Safe: where foodstuffs remain market-fresh even days after purchase.
Please can you tell us about Liebherr’s investment in customisable products
With ‘MyStyle’ Liebherr offers the unique opportunity to individually design the compact fridge Kcu 701. Not only can our customers select the interior design of their fridge, but also the exterior to suit their own personal taste – material, colour, even personal photos and favourite sayings can enhance the fridge. In addition to compact refrigerators for self-design, for the first time at IFA we are introducing a fridge-freezer combination that can be tailored to a customer’s individual requirements. Look out for the exclusive German debut of Liebherr’s new Monolith series too.
