SHARP PLANS PUSH INTO EUROPEAN MARKETS

“8K isn’t the future, it’s already here”

Here at IFA, Sharp has announced that it is targeting the European market with the launch of its second generation 8K TVs, and a new range of smartphones.

Sharp believes 8K has a bright future. Sharp’s vice president of marketing and sales, Sascha Lange states “8K isn’t the future, it’s already here. The new 60” 70” and 80” Sharp 8K AQUOS TV will be here soon. It is going on sale in Japan later this year, and with the intention to launch in Europe and US early next year.”

Lange added “Sharp is recognised as a leading innovator in 8K TVs and has recently developed a new 8K image processor, that allows 4K, UHD and Full-HD content to be enjoyed in 8K quality.”

There are also new 4K UHD Smart LED TV models with big screens launching at IFA. A 60″ and a 70″ model adds two sizes to Sharp’s portfolio. The sleek devices have impressive image quality as well a built-in Harman Kardon sound system. These will be on the market in October in time for the nal quarter.

Sharp’s other big push is in smartphones, The rm is already a Japanese market leader in Android devices, and is now planning to enter the European smartphone market.

These focus on elegant design and almost bezel-less displays, which are compact enough to perfectly fit in your hands despite their large display sizes of 5.5-inches to 5.99-inches. Equipped with AQUOS technology, the C10 and D10 provide impressive images in Full-HD quality.

Lange commented “In this respect, Sharp benefits from decades of research in display technology and also capitalises on synergies from its TV display production. “

There is also the launch of the new “SHARP by Pininfarina” collection, where Japanese innovation meets Italian design. This is a new premium TV and Audio range developed with the World famous Italian design house. According to Lange “this is based on classic Italian design and the dynamic contours drafted for sports cars, and designed for Europe”.
