European market leader presents cost-effective entry into comprehensive smart- home systems

Homematic IP is the smart-home platform of German smart-home technology company eQ- 3, which has placed well over 20 million wireless devices in more than one million households and which claims to be the European market leader.

At this year’s IFA, visitors to the revamped Homematic IP stand in Hall 25 are experiencing the ultimate integrated smart home designed to maximise energy efficiency, living comfort and convenience.

Homematic IP is especially focused on smart- home starter sets that offer beginners the chance to achieve whole-home smart living at low cost and with no prior knowledge. The systems can be easily installed or retrofitted via a Homematic IP Access Point that can control more than 90 devices available within the industry’s biggest smart-home product portfolio.

As part of this smart-home entry set, a new Homematic IP Heating Set was launched at IFA that enables cost-effective smart heating control. The goal is to reduce heating costs by up to 30% via two smart radiator thermostats that replace conventional equipment.

The set is intuitively operated via the free, newly designed Homematic IP Smartphone App in conjunction with the Homematic IP Access Point. The home heating profile can also be individually adjusted, while the temperature can also be conveniently regulated via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice control.

The set can be upgraded to become part of a more comprehensive smart-home system – including, for example, magnetic window and door contacts to simultaneously improve insulation and security.

The entire Homematic IP product line also includes newly encrypted high data security so it is protected against hacker attacks. In addition, an anonymous cloud service provides optimal protection of personal information.
