Hisense presents eye-opening next-gen display technologies for 2022

Chinese CE giant Hisense has announced a prototype ULED 8K Mini-LED series and “world’s first” 8K resolution laser display technology. The manufacturer will be implementing Mini-LED tech into its new premium U9H line for the first time, promising “stunning HDR performance with a better contrast, brighter images, and impressive colours than ever before”.

The company says it is leading the global laser TV industry into the TriChroma era and making the great technical breakthrough of laser TV from 1080P to 2K to 4K and then to 8K.

Not much information is currently known about the 8K technology and Hisense’s plan for the prototypes but the company has given a great deal of information about its 4K line up for 2022.

Top of the list, but only available in the US, is the U9H Quantum 4K ULED Mini-LED Google TV, featuring Mini LED and Hisense’s ULED technology, as well as the Google TV operating system.


Also in the lineup is the L5G Laser TV – L5G, offering “bright, 4K images that’s 4x bigger than a 55” TV”, Hisense says.

The L5G’s ultra-short throw projection technology allows the user to place the projector just inches from the screen and promises “a beautifully bright, 4K image that’s 4x bigger than a 55-inch TV”.

Other built-in features include Dolby Atmos sound, smart Android TV, Game Mode, Filmmaker Mode, and a 25,000 hour laser life.

Also launched for 2022 are the U6H Quantum 4K ULED Google TV, which features Google TV, far field voice, and screen sizes that span 50-75 inches.

In addition to this is the 4K U7H Quantum ULED Google TV. This model, aimed at gamers, comes with Game Mode Pro, HDMI 2.1, ALLM, and VRR, but also gets a Google TV upgrade and integrated ATSC 3.0 for even more options beyond gaming to make an excellent option for gamers and non-gamers alike.

Finally, the U8H Quantum 4K ULED Mini-LED Google TV boasts Mini LED, Google TV, increased brightness, better contrast, and a wider range of screen sizes reaching up to 75-inches, and it will retail for less than $1,500 (€1,322).

Hisense claims it will continue to be a global leader in the industry in 2022, continuing to “highlight the driving force of innovation for development, focus on the users’ needs, adhere to the product as the core, the industrial chain as the backbone, and drive industry change through innovation and connection”. With this strategy the company claims it is also continuing to achieve exponential sales growth, with revenue grow in excess of US$27bn (€24bn) in 2021, an increase of more than 20% year-on-year.
