LG announce world’s first gaming monitor with VESA AdaptiveSync Display certification

LG Electronics have made history with their UltraGear gaming monitors (models 27GP950 and 27GP850). The two 27-inch gaming monitors are the first in the world to receive VESA AdaptiveSync Display certification.

The certification provided by the Video Electronics Standards Association is given to monitors with variable refresh rate (VRR) that support VESA’s Adaptive-Sync protocol.

VESA uses over 50 test criteria to determine which monitors and laptops can receive AdaptiveSync Display certification. Necessary features include high refresh rates, low latency, as well as fast grey-to-grey (GTG) response times. LG’s 27GP950 and 27GP850 models were able to pass the test criteria with flying colours.

The monitors both give users the visual performance that is required for a “seamless gaming experience”, as put by the company, with strong performances regarding refresh rate, screen-flicker and response time. Other standout features include advanced LG Nano IPS panels, which guarantee high refresh rates as well as a grey-to-grey (GTG) response time of just one millisecond.

“We are proud the LG UltraGear became the first-ever monitors to receive VESA AdaptiveSync Display certification” said Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company.

“With upcoming 2022 models including UltraGear 27GP95R, we will not only meet the high standards of VESA’s performance tests, but also satisfy the expectations and diverse needs of today’s consumers”.
