Samsung’s new home entertainment line features personalised TVs and audio devices

The new line of home entertainment devices from Samsung features an array of models that play on the theme of personalisation.

Samsung signalled the start of April by announcing its 2022 line of home entertainment devices. Specifically, the line features Neo QLED 8K & 4K, OLED, QLED 4K, and Lifestyle TVs, as well as soundbars. The majority of products are already available to purchase for customers, with models expected to ship by late April.

The home entertainment line centres around how the role of the TV can be redefined in the home. Samsung’s 2022 TV product portfolio follows the company’s mantra of “Screens everywhere, Screens for all.” That means products have been designed and developed so that customers can personalise their devices and experiences. Here is a brief rundown of new models on Samsung’s new home entertainment line.

Neo QLED 8K: premium home entertainment

The Neo QLED 8K has been launched as a key product in Samsung’s home entertainment arsenal. According to Samsung, the TV “delivers the most premium viewing experience available to consumers”. This is because of the company’s Neural Quantum Processor 8K, which notably leverages artificial intelligence. The Neo QLED 8K TVs will be released in two different models, the QN900B and QN800B, both available 65”, 75” and 85” in sizes.

The former features a “nearly edge-to-edge screen”, with bright colours supported by Samsung’s own Mini LEDs. Meanwhile, the QN800B features ultra-premium Samsung Neo QLED 8K with Neural Quantum Processor. The dynamic 3D sound system “puts the viewer at the heart of the action”.

The Frame: one of Samsung’s standout lifestyle screens

One of Samsung’s newer models is The Frame. The TV features an anti-reflective matte finish, which the manufacturer claims gives the visuals on screen a more textured and realistic look. The model is perfect for presenting colour, with a billion shades at 100% Colour Volume, powerful even in bright and low light scenes, says Samsung. There is also reportedly less light reflection to distract from the viewing experience.

Similarly, the Serif TV also has an anti-reflective finish, while the Sero TV works well with the mobile experience. Viewers can stream content to the Sero from their mobile device, with the unique option to play content in horizontal or portrait mode. The 2022 Sero has the same anti-reflective finish as The Frame and Serif models.

Rounding out Samsung’s lifestyle TV portfolio is the Freestyle, a portable smart theatre with an 180° design that gives users an array of options for creating their own cinema experience. The smart projector can optimise screen size, as well as auto-focus and level images if they are at an angle. Audio from the speakers is played in every direction, giving users an “enveloping audio and visual experience”.

A variety of new soundbars from Samsung

Rounding out Samsung’s new home entertainment line is a variety of new soundbars. The 2022 Q and S Series lines of soundbars feature wireless Dolby Atmos technology, which can output sound from Wi-Fi-enabled TVs with no cables needed.

The Q-Symphony soundbar notably supports up to 22 audio channels. It can also connect, enable and optimise said audio channels.

Meanwhile, the flagship HW-Q990B impresses with a 11.1.4 channel sound. The subwoofer has been updated, with a design that can evenly disperse sound while outputting low-frequency performance.

For a sleek model, there is the S Series’ HW-S800B Ultra-Slim Soundbar, with an all-in-one speaker and 1.6” of depth. The device has been spotlighted for complimenting Samsung’s Lifestyle TVs, with a minimal design, Dolby Atmos sound and DTS Virtual:X support.
